Final Exam Content

Though comprehensive, the exam will focus on chapters 10-15 of the textbook, workbook (WB), lab manual (LM), and other ancillaries.

Oral Section Dates and Written Section Date

See your course syllabus for specific times/dates regarding the oral and written section of the final.

Note 1 : Both sections of the final exam include the NC State Honor Pledge, which you will be expected to sign at the conclusion of each section.
Note 2: The specific activities cited below come from the textbook, the workbook (WB) and the Lab Manual/Quia (LM). They show similar item structure, not content.

Parte de comprensión auditiva

I. Categorías – Similar in format to LM (lab manual) 10-12. Listen to groups of words and write the word that does not belong to the group.
II. Definiciones – Similar in format to LM 10-1. Listen to definitions and choose each word that is described. Word bank provided.
III. Lógico o no – Similar in format to LM 12-7. Listen to sentences and indicate if each is logical or not.
IV. Selección para escuchar – Similar in format to LM 10-8. Listen to a selection and complete sentences with correct information according to what you hear.
V. Una entrevista – Similar in format to LM 13-7. Write answers to questions that are presented orally. Pay attention to verb tenses.

Parte escrita

I. Una boda – Similar in format to WB (workbook) 10-14. Write sentences with reciprocal and non-reciprocal verbs to describe activities in drawings.
II. Una cuenta de ahorros – Similar in format to WB 11-4. Complete sentences with “por” and “para” according to context.
III. El lugar rural y la metropolis
     
A. Similar in format to WB 12-3. Complete sentences with the correct form of verbs according to context. Choose present subjunctive, present indicative or infinitive.
     B. Similar in format to WB 12-4 but with main clauses given. Complete sentences logically using subjunctive and indicative correctly.
IV. El teatro – Sentences similar in format to WB 13-11. Write correct form of “estar” and correct past participle in appropriate form. Verb bank given.
V. La tele – Similar in format to WB 14-4. Complete sentences about television programs using future tense. Verb bank provided.
VI. Una campana – Similar in format to WB 14-11. Complete sentences with present perfect indicative or present perfect subjunctive according to context.
VII. Una entrevista – Similar in format to 13-9 in the textbook. Complete sentences in an original manner using the conditional tense.
VIII. La vida en el pasado – Similar in format to WB 15-15. Complete sentences with the correct form of verbs in the past (imperfect) subjunctive.
IX. Una tienda nueva – Similar in format to LM 15-8. Multiple choice. Choose correct form of verbs to complete sentences. Choose present indicative, present subjunctive, infinitive, or past subjunctive.
X. Lectura – Read a selection based on one of the “Encuentro cultural” sections in the text. Answer true/false questions about content.
